Berlin Newcastle Flight: easyJet Goes Nonstop from BER on 20 November 2026
From 20 November 2026, there's finally a nonstop Berlin Newcastle flight. easyJet is adding the route to its winter 2026/27 schedule, twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, as airportzentrale.de reports. Until now, getting from BER to the North East of England usually meant changing planes somewhere along the way.
The news itself isn't brand new: fvw.de reported the nonstop route back on 18 June 2026. With just under eight weeks to go until the first flight, it's still worth a second look.
When and how often does easyJet fly from Berlin to Newcastle?
Twice a week. That's it.
| Day | Departure from BER (local time) |
|---|---|
| Monday | 18:45 |
| Friday | 17:20 |
Times via airportzentrale.de (as of September 2026). The first flight on 20 November is a Friday. I couldn't find the return times from Newcastle in any of the German reports, so check those with easyJet directly.
Flights Berlin to Newcastle: how long, and how much?
About two hours. As flightsfrom.com had it in September 2026, that's roughly 2 hours 10 minutes heading to Newcastle.
Price is where it gets fuzzy. In September 2026, Skyscanner showed fares from around £76 for Berlin to Newcastle. Is that already the new nonstop? I wouldn't bet on it, since comparison sites like to mix in connecting flights. And on a fresh route with two flights a week, prices will probably swing a lot depending on when you book.
Why Newcastle, and why now?
The Berlin Newcastle flight is only part of the story. easyJet is adding new routes at eight UK airports this winter, 13 in total, according to Simple Flying. Five of them start in Newcastle, which only became an easyJet base in March 2026 and sits inside easyJet's own winter 2026/27 flight schedule. Barcelona, Hurghada, Copenhagen, Berlin, and then Rovaniemi up by the Arctic Circle, where I suspect half of North East England wants to visit Santa in December.
For Berlin, Newcastle is easyJet's tenth UK route, per touristik-aktuell.de. The other nine? Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, and, no joke, three London airports: Gatwick, Luton, and Southend. Across Germany, that takes easyJet to 20 UK connections and more than 1.6 million seats, as airportzentrale.de works out. Ryanair's own winter 2026/27 schedule is growing fast too, in case Newcastle isn't the only new option on your radar from a German airport.
easyJet's UK country manager Kevin Doyle talks about "even more choice and connectivity from their local airport," as quoted by the Yorkshire Post. He means Newcastle, not Berlin. Honestly, that's the part I find most interesting: this route was built from the British side. According to routesonline.com, Newcastle Airport is pitching the launch as just in time for Berlin's Christmas markets. Doesn't bother me one bit. You're on the same plane, just going the other way, and as far as I know Newcastle has its own Christmas market too.
easyJet hand luggage: what you can take on the Berlin Newcastle flight
New route, same rules, easyJet's own hand luggage rules apply here just like anywhere else. As far as I can tell, easyJet hasn't announced anything route-specific for Newcastle.
Only the small bag under the seat in front of you is free, max 45x36x20 cm. The larger cabin bag costs extra unless your fare or seat includes it, and it can then be up to 56x45x25 cm and 15 kg. That's straight from easyJet's own baggage page, current as of July 2026. For the big airlines' limits side by side, see our cabin baggage dimensions by airline.
For a long weekend in Newcastle, the under-seat bag is often enough if you pack carefully. I'd rather spend the cabin bag money on a pint.
Packing cubes make a small bag bigger
Okay, not literally bigger. But cubes split your bag into compartments, and more fits in than you'd expect. A cheap set like the Yomisee Packing Cubes, 7-teiliges Kofferorganizer-Set does the job, and for a short trip you'll only take two of the seven cubes anyway. For more ways to squeeze everything into that under-seat bag, check our carry-on packing list.

No adapter, no charged phone
The UK has its own sockets, Type G with three rectangular pins, and a standard EU plug won't fit. An adapter with USB ports like the 6-in-1 Reiseadapter UK (Typ G) mit USB-C & USB-A sorts that out and saves you packing a second charger.

Is the Berlin Newcastle flight worth it?
For Berliners who want England beyond London? I think so. Out on Friday, back on Monday sounds like the perfect long weekend. Whether it works depends on those return times, though. And easyJet hasn't said whether the route survives into summer, at least not that I've found. Two flights a week is a cautious start for the Berlin Newcastle flight. Looking for more options? Eurowings' own winter 2026/27 schedule is adding new destinations too.
