What Actually Fits? The Packing Test

Liter ratings on Amazon sound nice. But what does "35 liters" mean for a real travel bag short trip?

According to Drakensberg, a 25 to 30 liter weekender typically fits: 2 pairs of trousers, 2 to 3 tops, underwear for three days, one extra pair of shoes, travel-size toiletries, and charging cables.

Sounds doable? It is, if you roll instead of fold.

My packing test scenario: Berlin city trip, 3 nights, May

Here's what I packed:

• 2 pairs of jeans (one dark, one light)

• 3 t-shirts

• 1 light sweater

• 4x underwear and socks

• Toiletry bag (toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo 100ml)

• 1 pair of sneakers

• Charging cable, headphones, power bank
