How to Pack a Suitcase Like a Pro: 15 Tips

1. Plan before you pack. Lay everything out on the bed. Then remove a third of it.

2. Stick to matching colors. Black, white, beige, one accent color. Every piece works with every other piece.

3. Try your outfits on first. Condor flight attendant Daniela Bauder told Business Insider she combines everything beforehand. If you want to pack a suitcase the right way, leave out anything that doesn't work with at least two outfits.

8. Stuff your shoes. Socks, chargers, small items: tuck them inside your shoes.

11. Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on. One pair of underwear, a t-shirt, your key medications. Sounds excessive, until your checked bag lands in Frankfurt and you're in Mallorca. Bauder swears by this. So do I.

12. Vacuum bags for bulky items. 15. Pack the night before, review in the morning. Fresh eyes spot what you really don't need.
