120 weekly flights to Mallorca. A first-ever direct route to Iraq. And Tallinn starting at 50 euros.
Düsseldorf Airport just released its summer 2026 flight schedule, and the Düsseldorf Airport destinations list is hard to ignore: Over 60 airlines serving roughly 160 destinations across about 50 countries. Around 3,300 weekly takeoffs and landings, running from late March through October. For travelers in North Rhine-Westphalia, it's the biggest selection since the pandemic.
Now, 160 destinations sounds like a lot. It is. But the airport hasn't quite matched its 2019 record of 205 destinations, 77 airlines, and 25.5 million passengers. Still, 2025 saw 21 million passengers come through, up 5% from 2024. So recovery is clearly happening, and the 2026 schedule keeps that momentum going.
New Düsseldorf Airport Destinations for Summer 2026
Eurowings, the home carrier at DUS, is expanding aggressively. New routes include Karpathos (Greece), Madrid, Tallinn (Estonia), and Kayseri (Turkey). Milan Linate gets served 11 times per week. If you're flying Eurowings and want to sort out your luggage situation, we've got a guide on adding Eurowings baggage.
The most interesting new route? Probably Condor's direct Tuesday service to Sulaymaniyah in Iraq. About five hours of flight time. First-ever direct connection from Düsseldorf to Iraq. You can check our Condor carry-on rules guide for packing details.
Enter Air brings Pristina (Kosovo) to the map. Sky Express now flies Athens daily and Thessaloniki three times a week.
Beyond the new routes, the existing heavy hitters also deserve a look.
Busiest Routes from DUS
Mallorca stays on top. Roughly 120 weekly connections, 64 of those from Eurowings alone. Antalya follows with about 90 weekly flights operated by SunExpress, Pegasus, and Corendon. If Turkey is on your radar, our SunExpress hand luggage guide covers the baggage basics.
London Heathrow gets around 55 weekly flights, Vienna about 50, and Istanbul sits between 35 and 45. Turkey alone has over 20 destinations on the board, Spain 17, and Greece half a dozen.
That range of options is what makes DUS particularly useful for the region it serves.
Why This Matters for NRW Travelers
Düsseldorf is Germany's fourth-largest airport, after Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin. But its catchment area of 18.5 million people is the largest on the European continent. North Rhine-Westphalia is Germany's most populous state, and DUS is the closest major airport for most people living there.
The Easter 2026 period gives a preview of what's coming: Between March 27 and April 12, the airport expects over one million passengers. The peak weekend of April 3 to 5 alone should see 184,000 travelers.
Practical Tips for Flying from DUS
Something a lot of travelers don't realize: The CT scanners at Gates A and B mean you don't have to unpack laptops or liquids from your carry-on. That's a genuine time saver during busy mornings. Starting March 30, security opens at 3:30 AM.
Eleven airlines offer Self Bag Drop, including Eurowings, Condor, Lufthansa, and easyJet. Skip the check-in counter line if you can.
New at Gate B: The DUS Rhein Lounge, 935 square meters, single entry for 49 euros. Priority Pass holders are accepted too. And 24 new shops and restaurants are opening through early summer 2026.
Quick note on Eurowings BASIC fares: Only a small personal item (40x30x25 cm) is included free. A cabin trolley costs from 18 euros extra. The SMART fare includes a full-size carry-on plus a 23 kg checked bag. Not sure what bag works? Our carry-on luggage test covers options for every airline.
