No. Hauptstadtkoffer is not made in Germany. And yes, that surprises a lot of people. A Berlin brand, named after Germany's capital, colorful hardshell suitcases with TSA locks and a distinctly German vibe. Sounds like German engineering. It isn't.

A friend of mine, Stefanie, bought an American Tourister Soundbox for about 85 euros. Three trips later, one wheel had snapped off, the handle wobbled, and the zipper got stuck mid-zip at the airport carousel. She texted me a photo of the damage with a string of words I probably shouldn't repeat...

4.7 stars, over 3,000 reviews, starting at 60 euros. The COOLIFE suitcase shows up in pretty much every Amazon.de search for "budget hardshell luggage." I kept wondering though: Does it actually fit Ryanair's rules? How much can you really pack when the suitcase itself weighs nearly 3 kg? And...

EUR 59.89 for a suitcase with over 3,400 reviews on Amazon. That sounds too good to be true, right? I thought so too. Then I actually dug into what Travelite is all about.

Sixty euros. That's what the woman in front of me at the Barcelona gate paid because her suitcase was 2 centimeters too tall. Two centimeters. I watched the Ryanair staff slide her bag into the metal sizing frame, and it stuck out just enough. She argued. They didn't care. Sixty euros gone.

For the same money, you could book five weekend trips to Barcelona with flights included. Or buy nine copies of the [product:B06XSSJQDB] that would probably last just as long combined. But Rimowa carry-on luggage has that reputation. That aura. People swear by it. Others think it's a flex that...

55 x 40 x 20 centimetres. Three numbers. That's all that separates a smooth boarding experience from a EUR 55 gate fee and a very public argument with an airline employee.

232,423 hits. That's how many times the INTERPOL database for stolen travel documents matched at border controls in 2023 alone. Over 3.6 billion queries worldwide. I checked that number three times because it sounded absurd. It's real.

A 103% increase in hotel bookings with mountain views. 40.55 million overnight stays in Austria between May and July 2025. Those aren't predictions. That's already happening.

Twelve hours in a middle seat, an engine droning at what feels like concert volume, a neighbor snoring, a toddler crying two rows back. Flying long-haul without noise cancelling headphones is exactly the kind of trip that convinces people never to do it again.

Picture closing your laptop on a Friday evening, grabbing your backpack, and walking straight to the train station. No flight booked. No rental car. Just a Deutschlandticket and four free days. Down the Black Forest Railway, along Lake Constance, beer in Lindau by nightfall.

A friend booked a Pegasus flight to Antalya last June. The ticket was 31 euros. Bargain, right? Then she showed up at the gate with a regular cabin trolley and got charged 50 euros on the spot. Her "cheap flight" suddenly cost more than a Lufthansa fare.
